We believe God ceaselessly calls to every human heart, beckoning it to thrive in the infinite depths of His unchanging love. We also believe that, along the way, He expects us to invite each other into a loving exchange of ideas, questions, doubts, and discoveries. Shared exploration of the most fundamental questions about what it means to be human is a particular species of friendship, and particularly crucial if we are to become the fully flourishing beings God intends.

To that end, we have created “2 Minutes to God” as a forum for that very exchange of ideas. Listeners send in their sincere questions about God, faith, life, suffering, and any number of other topics, and our host, Fr. Daniel O’Mullane, takes his best shot at answering them. Fr. Daniel genuinely reads the questions for the first time on camera; our production team doesn’t send them to him beforehand to prepare an answer, because that would be a lecture, not a conversation among friends.

Our listeners span a wide spectrum of good will: Some are daily communicants who eagerly embrace Church teaching in every detail; some are unwavering agnostics who are nonetheless interested to learn more about different faith traditions; and some don’t know what they believe yet. For our part, we promise that you’ll always know where we’re coming from: Fr. Daniel is a student of the Catholic intellectual tradition, a devotee of Scripture and Tradition, and, above all, a resolute disciple of Jesus.

One final note: Each episode addresses only two questions, and for the sake of practicality (and sanity) we’ve capped Fr. Daniel at two minutes or less per answer. We know most of your questions can’t be answered anywhere close to completely in such a short time, and we hope you’ll find that this podcast is just the beginning of the conversation, not the end. We invite you to check out our other resources and, of course, keep asking questions!

Father Daniel O’Mullane is pastor of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church and School in Boonton, NJ and founder of the 2 Minutes to God video podcast. He previously served the Diocese of Paterson in a number of diverse roles, including adjunct professor at Seton Hall University, diocesan Censor Liborum, parochial vicar, and high school chaplain and theology teacher.

A trailblazer in both Catholic education and pastoral outreach, Fr. Daniel has been recognized for his work across a number of platforms, such as the Education Award from Assumption College for Catholic Sisters and a Parish Excellence Award from Unbound for his creative outreach to parishioners and beyond during the pandemic. His efforts have been highlighted by a number of news and social media, including WCBS 880 Radio, FOX 5 News, the National Catholic Register, New Jersey’s own Star Ledger and Daily Record, and the Wall Street Journal. Fr. Daniel’s “new and innovative ways” of connecting with people have led one news outlet to remark that where others see roadblocks and reasons to quit, he sees opportunities for growth.

Fr. Daniel graduated magna cum laude from Boston College with a BA in Economics and Theology. He was then sent to Rome for priestly formation at two of the world’s foremost theological institutions – the Gregorian University and the Alphonsian Academy – where he earned his STB and completed his STL in Moral Theology. He has also earned a Specialist Degree in Education at Seton Hall University, graduating with commendations.
